Valentine Charlton Cat Centre

The Valentine Charlton Cat Centre is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built veterinary facility with on-site specialists in a variety of disciplines including feline medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging and pathology.
It was made possible by a significant bequest to the Post Graduate Foundation in Veterinary Science from the estate of the late Valentine Charlton, private and corporate donations through the Veterinary Science Foundation, and dollar-for-dollar funding from the University of Sydney.
The Centre has been designed to specifically address issues relating to the unique nature of feline practice. It will be a showcase for ‘best’ clinical feline practice and the clinical instruction of veterinary undergraduates in feline medicine.
The feline medicine unit is run by two academic feline medicine specialists – Dr Julia Beatty and Dr Vanessa Barrs.
The Valentine Charlton Cat Centre will has a key role in providing internationally renowned excellence in feline clinical research and enables the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Sydney to act as a strong advocate for cat health.
