Postgraduate Advisors and Student Representatives
Research degrees are exciting and exhilarating but can also be challenging and occasionally frustrating. During both the “ups and downs” you will have the continual support of your supervisor and your associate supervisors as well as the Faculty Postgraduate Coordinators and Sub Dean of Postgraduate Research and Training. You will also have the support of your peers via the fellow students that you may share a laboratory or other work space with.
The Faculty's Postgraduate Education and Research Training Committee are dedicated to the work and welfare of postgraduate students. It consists of student representatives as well as members of academic staff and they provide an enthusiastic interface between the staff and postgraduate students. The current Sub-Dean and Chair of PERTC is Dr Merran Govendir and she and her team are very willing to provide help and advice to current and potential postgraduate research students.
If you have any queries which have not been answered by the information on these pages, please contact Dr Merran Govendir or Ms Tess LaLande (Faculty Research Postgraduate Administration).
Another point of contact may be the Faculty Postgraduate Advisors available at both the Camden and Sydney campuses, who will assist you with advice and information.
If you would like to speak to a 'real life' Research Student about their experiences, then there are Postgraduate Representatives on both campuses, too.
