The Poultry Research Unit at Camden campus includes fully equipped laboratories and state of the art animal housing facilities to support nutritional, metabolic, endocrine and immunological studies.

Facilities Include:

• Metabolism Unit

1. Group cage facility; 1000 birds 0-6 weeks
2. Individual adult rooster cages
3. Individual pullet metabolism cages
4. Individual grower cages

• Controlled Environment Rooms
• High rise layer building to house 4000 layers in single, double or five bird cages maintained at 20-30o C
• Controlled enviroment deep litter building with 48 floor pens for broiler growth studies (50 birds/pen)
• Feed mill with a mixing capacity of up to 1.5 tonne with pelleting facilities
