Course Method

 

The Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Public Health Management (GradDipVPHMgt) is a coursework program comprised of:

  • Distance education units of study
  • Three short residential blocks

Course Objectives

 
  • To develop knowledge and skills in veterinary public health particularly veterinary epidemiology, food science, zoonoses, disease control, animal health economics and animal health policy development
  • To develop particular expertise in one or more relevant fields of veterinary public health according to the electives chosen by the student
  • To develop enhanced skills in leadership and project management relevant in the modern work environments of animal health professionals

Who should do this course?

 

Animal health professionals who want to a career in veterinary public health and need some specialist training in technical and managerial aspects to be better equipped to work in an increasingly important field of animal health.

Candidates must complete 7 core units of study and 3 electives, for a total of 36 credit points.

Course Length

 

A part-time candidate for the Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Public Health Management shall complete the requirements for the award in a minimum of 4 semesters and a maximum of 6 semesters. Exception to this to complete the program within 7 semesters of admission to candidature can only be granted with permission from the Dean.

Entry Requirements

 

A Bachelor degree in veterinary science, animal science or equivalent or Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Public Health Management.
