Award of Scholarships

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Applicants must be in their first year of the VPHMgt program.
2. Applicants must not be in receipt of another scholarship or any other form of external funding to support their study in the VPHMgt program, including employer-sponsored course fee payment.
3. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
4. Applicants must intend to work in Australia following completion of their degree.

The McGarvie Smith scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who shows strong commitment to working in the livestock industries in New South Wales.

The T.J. Nicholls scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who are registered (or eligible to register) for practicing veterinary science in Australia and who demonstrate a commitment to working for the benefit of Australian livestock producers at the national level.

Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of academic merit, a written application (see Scholarship Application Information) and the reports of referees.

The availability of scholarships for 2009 is still under review.
