Course Method

 

The Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Public Health Management (GradCertVPHMgt) is a coursework program comprised of:

  • distance education units oftudy
  • two short residential blocks.

Course Objectives

 
  • To develop knowledge and skills in veterinary public health particularly veterinary epidemiology, food science, zoonoses, disease control, animal health economics and animal health policy development.
  • To develop skills in leadership and project management relevant in the modern work environments of animal health professionals.

Animal health professionals who want a career path in veterinary public health and who realise a need for further training to support the technical and managerial aspects of current and future employment

Course Structure

 

Candidates must complete 6 core units of study, for a total of 24 credit points.

Core

Course Length

 

A part-time candidate will complete the requirements for the award in a minimum of 2 semesters and a maximum of 4 semesters. Exception to this can only be granted with permission from the Dean, within 5 semesters of admission to candidature.

Entry Requirements

 

A Bachelor degree in veterinary science, animal science or equivalent or Minimum of 4 years work experience in a relevant discipline on approval of the Dean.
