Professor Kenneth A Johnson BVSc(Hons) MVSc PhD Diplomate ACVS and ECVS
Professor Kenneth Johnson completed his Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Master of Veterinary Science and PhD at the University of Sydney and is rejoining the Faculty after an appointment as Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Ohio State University.
Ken is a Fellow of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists, a Diplomate of both the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Surgery and has an international reputation in small animal orthopaedics and research.
His major clinical and research interests are in osteoarthritis, cruciate disease, total hip replacement, and fracture management, particularly utilizing interlocking nails.
As part of his long standing activities with AO Foundation, he has been very involved in AO education as well as the development of locking plate implants for TPLO.
Professor Robert H Wrigley BVSc(Hons) DVR MS Diplomate ACVS and ECVS
Professor Robert Wrigley completed his Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney, his Masters at Colorado State University and received his Diploma in Veterinary Radiology from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is rejoining the Faculty after an appointment as Professor of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging at Colorado State University.
Robert is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology and the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and has an international reputation in diagnostic imaging and digital radiography.
His research interests include thoracic radiology of small animals, ultrasonography of acute abdomen, ultrasonography of equine ligaments/tendons and the optimization of human digital imaging processing for veterinary practice. Robert is a co-author of the Handbook of Small Animal Radiological Differential Diagnosis.

Dr Garth McGilvray BVSc., FAVA, FAICD. President, VPB NSW
Garth is the President of the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW and is a keen sailor, who has set his sails throughout the Mediterranean. Garth graduated in 1967 from The University of Sydney. Since this time he has established a thriving four branch practice in Northern NSW in the Coffs Harbour area. Become the national president of the Australian Veterinary Association (1999-2000), Veterinary Surgeons Board President (2002-2006) and Councillor of the World Veterinary Association. He has been a member of the NSW Disciplinary & Appeals Panel of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and since 1999 has played an invaluable role in the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council in developing processes for the accreditation of veterinary schools, registration of specialists, the national veterinary exam and a system for nationally portable veterinary registration. Garth has a wealth of knowledge that he has put to use in steering the profession into the future. Garth will speak about his passions in life and his thoughts on the veterinary profession at the dinner.

Dr Sanaa Zaki BVSc (Hons) MACVSc GradCertEdStud (Higher Education)
Dr Zaki graduated from the University of Sydney in 1992. She became a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists, Anaesthesia and Critical Care Chapter in 1997 and completed the Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies (Higher Education) at the University of Sydney in 2005. Since 1995 she has been teaching, conducting clinical research and providing clinical service within the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney. In her current position as Lecturer in Veterinary Anaesthesia she is Unit of Study coordinator for the Veterinary Anaesthesia course and Year 4 coordinator for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree.
In 2008, Dr Zaki was appointed Director of the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital-Sydney. She is currently also undertaking a PhD looking at “Understanding the pain of osteoarthritis”.
Dr Darien Jane Feary BVSc, MS, Diplomate ACVIM, Diplomate ACVECC
Darien graduated from the University of Sydney in 1999 and completed an equine internship at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, Victoria before travelling to the United States. Darien completed a 3 year Residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at Colorado State University, attaining specialist board certification with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and a Masters in Clinical Sciences. Darien then went on to complete a 2 year Fellowship in Equine Emergency and Critical Care at the University of California, Davis, attaining specialist board certification with the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC). Darien has since worked in equine referral private practice in Ocala, Florida, and Goulburn Valley, Victoria, and has returned to the University of Sydney as a Lecturer in Equine Medicine. Darien has a special interest in foal medicine and equine emergency and critical care and hopes to contribute to the future development of equine medicine and critical care teaching and service at the University of Sydney.

Dr Soo Kuan BVSc MACVSc
Soo graduated from the University of Sydney in 2000. Since graduation, Soo has worked in zoos, and in several small animal practices. In 2004, whilst in private practice Soo obtained her membership in small animal surgery with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. She then completed a surgical internship at the Northern Sydney Veterinary Specialist Centre. In 2006, Soo returned to the University Veterinary Centre Sydney as a small animal surgery resident, with the aim to attain Fellowship in Small Animal Surgery.
Soo shares her life with 3 dogs and 4 cats, and also organises the monthly surgery journal club in Sydney for all specialists and any practitioners interested in small animal surgery.

Dr Christina Dart Dr med vet, MSc, DVSc, Diplomate ACVA
Dr Dart completed her undergraduate degree and Dr med vet from University of Zuerich, Switzerland. Following a short stay in mixed practice she completed her MSc (orthopaedics) followed by a residency and completion of DVSc degree, both at Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Canada. She undertook the position of lecturer at University of California Davis before arriving in Australia where after 1 year of part-time practice and teaching for TAFE in Tamworth took up position at University of Sydney as the first qualified Anaesthetist at Camden Teaching Hospital. She is presently a senior lecturer and head of 5 person anaesthesia service at Camden. Dr Dart is a diplomat of American College of Anaesthesiologists and registered specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia.
