Units of Study - Bachelor of Science (Veterinary) BSc(Vet)
Candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Science who have completed not less than three years of candidature may be permitted by the Faculty to interrupt their candidature for not more than one academic year to undertake an approved course of advanced study and research as a candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Science (Veterinary).
The minimum academic standard for suitability for admission to the Bachelor of Science (Veterinary) program is a pass grade in all units of study of the Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree up to the semester completed at the time of interruption of candidature for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree.
This means that students cannot be enrolled in both the BVSc and the BSc(Vet) so to do the one year Bachelor of Science (Veterinary) you must not be carrying any subjects from previous years.
The course of advanced study and research shall be in a field of scientific investigation for which adequate prerequisite training has been obtained and for which appropriate supervision and facilties are available.
A candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Science (Veterinary) shall successfully complete the units of study as prescribed below:
Semester 1
Veterinary Research A
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Bachelor of Veterinary Science Years 1, 2 and 3
Corequisite: VETS4043
In this unit students undertake a period of supervised research in a topic in Veterinary Science.
Semester 2
Veterinary Research B
Prerequisite: VETS4042 Veterinary Research A
This unit of study is a continuation of VETS4042.
