Local Applicants

Applications on the basis of current Year 12 results
Applications for admission based on performance in the Higher School Certificate Examination will be ranked on their scaled aggregate University Admission Index (UAI). The University of Sydney will select Year 12 students solely on their UAI. The minimum aggregates required for Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) entry for the past three years were as follows:

  • 2006 - 98.35 (UAI)
  • 2007 - 98.4 (UAI)
  • 2008 - 98.3 (UAI)

Selection criteria if you are not sitting the current NSW HSC

The STAT is a general test of cognitive ability in literacy and numeracy. The test is administered by the Universities Admissions Centre. All details regarding the STAT administered by the Universities Admissions Centre are available from UAC. The 'Multiple Choice' version of the test is the one required by the Universities Admissions Centre for Veterinary Science. *Saturday, 6 December, 2008 is the final date for sitting the STAT for entry in 2009. The UAC closing date for applications to sit the final STAT test is 24 November 2008.
    * 6 December 2008 is the last date to sit STAT to guarantee processing of STAT results for inclusion in Main Round of offers.

Applicants should demonstrate a firm and continuing commitment to the study of Veterinary Science. Evidence of such commitment could include work experience in veterinary practice or in primary animal production and membership of organisations such as WIRES.
