Knowledge and Skill Areas

Students will gain training and understanding in the following:

  • animal nutrition
  • animal genetics and biotechnology
  • animal reproduction
  • animal behaviour, husbandry and welfare science
  • animal systems management
  • animal health and disease

Graduates may apply this knowledge and skill base to domestic, native and exotic animals in the context of food animal production, natural systems management and research.

This new curriculum replaces the old animal production stream of the BScAgr, with a much higher content of animal science throughout the program.
