The Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Public Health (GradCertVPH) is a coursework program comprised of distance education units of study.
Course Objectives
- To develop knowledge and skills in veterinary public health particularly veterinary epidemiology, food science, zoonoses, disease control, animal health economics and animal health policy development.

Animal health professionals who want a career path in veterinary public health and who realise a need for further training to support the technical aspects of current and future employment.
Course Structure
Candidates must satisfactorily complete 7 core units of study, granting a minimum of 24 credit points.

- VETS7008 Hazards to Human and Animal Health (Semester 1)
- VETS7009 Animal Health Economics (Semester 1)
- VETS7011 Data Analysis for Policy Making (Semester 1)

- VETS7004 Veterinary Epidemiology 1 (Semester 2)
Course Length
A full-time candidate will complete the requirements for the Graduate Certificate in a minimum of 1 semester and a maximum of 2 semesters. A part-time candidate will complete the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in a minimum of 2 semesters and a maximum of 4 semesters.
Entry Requirements
A Bachelor degree in veterinary science, animal science or equivalent or Minimum of 4 years work experience in a relevant discipline on approval of the Dean
