Virtual Open Day – Postgraduate Coursework

Opens 13th October 2009

At the Virtual Open Day you can find out about the range of postgraduate coursework available in Veterinary and Animal Science

At the Virtual Open Day you will be able to find out more about the strengths of the Faculty in scientific and professional coursework training, including combining leadership and management with advanced technical skills.

All programs are open to veterinarians, animal scientists and similarly qualified people – it is only clinical training that is limited to veterinarians registered in NSW.

Full-time, Part-time, On campus or by Distance

 Students

Flexibility, accessibility and relevance to the diverse needs of postgraduate students underpins all our coursework programs. Across our programs you have the opportunity to study online, through residential intensive sessions, in on-campus classes or supervised in developing practical and clinical expertise.

There are opportunities to study full time, but most of our postgraduate students study part-time. In fact, we consider there to be significant value for your learning if you study while you work. At the virtual open day you can find out about the ways these different types of study work.

I work full time – how can I study as well?

Most of our postgraduate students work full time and some of our programs are specifically designed to cater for busy professionals who may be located anywhere in Australia.

Online Study

The Virtual Open Day is also a sample of an online classroom. You will be able to get a taste of online study; you will see that it is a collaborative, not isolated, process that gives you access to experts and the latest knowledge and techniques, wherever you are located.

Our flagship postgraduate program, Veterinary Public Health Management, has sustained very high levels of student satisfaction and was recently given a national award. This quality also translates to the new Veterinary Public Health and Animal Science (Animal Breeding Management) programs. Veterinary Studies will be also be available either online or on campus.

On-Campus Study

While the Virtual Open Day obviously gives a better sense of online than on-campus study, it also contains information about on-campus programs.

Talk to People about Postgraduate Study

The virtual open day, like all online classrooms, includes an online discussion area where you can talk to staff about postgraduate study. We will also invite current students to come and talk about their experiences.
