Coursework Programs

Postgraduate coursework offers professional development, opportunities for career changes and is linked to career development and progression.

Globalisation of agriculture, the rapid development of new biotechnologies and scientific knowledge as well as the economic impact of diseases such as bovine spongiform encephalopathy and foot-and-mouth disease have led to a need for veterinarians and animal scientists with advanced skills that can be applied in a rapidly changing world.

The Faculty of Veterinary Science offers a number of coursework programs, including:

Animal Science (Animal Breeding Management)

 

This new program in Animal Breeding Management (ABMgt) is offered by distance with interactive online classrooms as well as short on-campus residentials. It is designed for busy veterinarians and animal health professionals working full time.

Animal Science

 

The new postgraduate coursework program in Animal Science provides targeted education that meets the need for animal scientists with technical skills to service rapidly changing production animal industries, in Australia and overseas. The program will be offered in three specialist streams: animal genetics, animal nutrition and animal reproduction.

Veterinary Public Health

 

The new fully online postgraduate coursework program in Veterinary Public Health (VPH) aims to provide world-class education in veterinary public health to distance students. The program is scheduled to be launched in February 2007.

Veterinary Public Health Management

Veterinary Studies

 

This flexible postgraduate coursework program in Veterinary Studies will allow students to select a major or an alternative program of study that best suits their career goals. Students may select from all postgraduate units of study offered in the Faculty of Veterinary Science, subject to the availability of supervisors in some areas.

Wildlife Health and Population Management
