Future Students

The postgraduate program in Animal Science is designed to meet the need for animal scientists in Australia and internationally with technical skills to service rapidly changing production animal industries.

Graduates will be equipped with advanced, applied skills in animal science and with knowledge of specific animal industries. Skills and knowledge will be gained through coursework and a research project in the area.

Who should study this Degree?

The program is suited to graduates of veterinary and animal sciences, or science or agriculture with appropriate background knowledge. Students in the course will be looking to facilitate a career change and/or undertake training in research.

The Faculty of Veterinary Science possesses considerable research-based expertise in areas such as genomics, biotechnology and conservation biology, as well as in animal reproduction and nutrition - for which there is also a need for graduates in industry.

In addition, animal scientists and veterinarians from developing countries have need of access to training in the latest knowledge and techniques that can be applied in their home country upon completion of study.
