Member Zoological Parks Board of NSW (September 2001-June 2006) Hon. Veterinary Officer to the NSW Branch of the Deer Industry Association of Australia (DIAA) since 1978. Chairman of the DIAA QA Board 1998 - present. Regional coordinator for Australia and New Zealand of the IUCN/SSC Deer Specialist Group of the Species Survival Commission of IUCN. Also member of Conservation Breeding Specialist Group and Veterinary Specialist Groups. Member of the Executive Committee and Secretary of the World Association of Wildlife Veterinarians (WAWV). Adviser to the ASMP Artiodactyl Taxon Advisory Group. Invited member of World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA).
Leader of People to People Ambassador Program veterinary delegations to China (1994) (wildlife conservation and utilisation), to Nepal (1995) (wildlife management and conservation), and in 1997 to Bhutan and Nepal (wildlife conservation and management). Leader of a fourth delegation to the Galapagos Islands in December 1999. Planning completed for a delegation to South Africa in February 2002. Founder and President of the Australian Association of Veterinary Conservation Biologists (AAVCB) 1993 to present. AAVCB is the Australian Veterinary Association's wildlife Special Interest Group. Member of Executive Committee and Secretary of the World Association of Wildlife Veterinarians. Convener on behalf of WAWV of a 1-day symposium "Veterinarians in Conservation Biology" at the 7th International Theriological Congress, Acapulco, Mexico (September 1997).
