Welcome to the Faculty of Veterinary Science web site, which contains information about our teaching and research. It also provides information on our veterinary teaching hospitals, which not only provide the highest quality of care for animals but are a core resource in the training of the next generation of veterinarians. Our Faculty vision is to be world-class for student learning, research, animal welfare and community benefit. We have strong global connections and about 20 per cent of our veterinary student intake each year are international students.

Veterinary Science has an international reputation for high-impact research and quality education. The Faculty is committed to research and training in a variety of animals (especially farm animals, equines and companion animals), in clinical and para-clinical disciplines as well as in areas of increasing prominence, such as genetics, reproduction and public health. Veterinary Science's research profile influences all aspects of faculty activity and ensures students have access to the latest knowledge and techniques in each field.

It is a national leader in providing professionally relevant postgraduate coursework in veterinary and animal science and graduates report accelerated career progression, improved job satisfaction and enhanced employment and research prospects.

The Faculty has a close partnership with one of the internationally recognized leaders in veterinary continuing education, the University of Sydney Post Graduate Foundation in Veterinary Science.
